Gunja (Arbus) Seed: The Divine MAGICAL BEANS!!
Of all the thousands of
seed-bearing plants species on earth, Gunja seeds are certainly one of the most beautiful.
Spiritual Uses:
Symbolizing goddess Laxmi, it helps to bring luck and prosperity to the bearer. Also helps to protect one from Evil’s eye or Black Magic. Gunja FACTS
Gunja is a ‘lata’, a
creeping/climbing vine. In ancient times, its seeds were used to measure/weigh
gold. One gunja seed was called a ‘rati’.
Gunja seeds are poisonous and should never be eaten.
If the red seeds are kept in a small box for few days, it becomes black.
However, its leaves and root are
good ayurvedic medicines. Gunja leaves are very beneficial in mouth ulcers.
There are three major types of gunja. The most common
is red, followed by white and black seeds.
Green and yellow varieties are sometimes mentioned
but they may be researched or mutated.
