YOGA MUDRA FOR HEALTHY HEART

Wednesday

11 May 2022

MUDRA SCIENCE: LISTEN TO YOUR #HEART

Mudra is a gesture or position, usually of the hands that locks and guides energy flow and reflexes to the brain.

By curling, crossing, stretching and touching the fingers and hands, we can communicate to the body and mind in a certain way as each area of the hand corresponds to a specific part of the mind or body.

Mudras have been used for thousands of years to restore and maintain health.

A Mudra needs to be held for at least 2 minutes. It takes about 30 seconds to just “trigger” the Mudra, to create the electromagnetic circuit. Then, it needs to be held for at least two minutes, but you can hold it for as long as can, ideally for 45 minutes in a 24-hour period - morning, afternoon and evening.

Cardiovascular functions are controlled by neural factors, temperature, hormones, etc., Of these, neural factors primarily concern the autonomic nervous system, which plays a major role in maintaining and regulating cardiac functions, e.g., blood pressure and heart rate.

You need to know to keep your heart hale and hearty

  • A healthy heart
  • A healthy heart beats anywhere between 70 to 80 beats a minute.
  • Heart rates increase in response to the body needing more oxygen or nutrients.
  • Fainting, dizziness and shortness of breath is indicative that the heart rate might be very low, for heart pumping may be affected.

The heart is the epicenter of your body, which is why it is important to keep in best shape. We already know the benefits of yoga asanas for cardiovascular health, but it’s time to know about some mudras that can help in equal measure.

1.  Apan Vayu Mudra: Heart Mudra

Apan Vayu Mudra is one of the most important healing Mudras. It strengthens the heart, regulates palpitations and eases gastric problem. This Mudra is specially recommended for all people who are 40+. This Mudra is also called as the ‘Mritsanjivani Mudra’, as it provides immediate relief to a person suffering from cardiac arrest. It eases the pain and improves blood circulation when under angina attack. Even, Apan Vayu mudra has called an emergency tool for primary supportive medical care in case of a heart attack till hospitalization. They referred it ‘V Mudra – a possible victory over death’.

This Mudra is very helpful for persons suffering from high blood pressure (BP) too. It is also called detoxification Mudra as it is helpful in removing obstructions, blockages in the system and detoxifies the body. How does it work? • According to Ayurveda, any imbalance in the three “Dosha” – Vata, Pitta and Kapha causes diseases. Apan Vayu Mudra restores balance in these three ‘Dosha’. Apan Vayu Mudra stimulates and strengthens the blood circulatory system – digestive system, respiratory system, excretory system and the nervous system.

Yoga mudra makes its effect through the nerve endings in fingers. The interplay of fingers sensitizes nerves in palm and wrist area which in turn makes a systemic effect on cardiovascular system and improves it.

2. Surya Mudra

Succulents are wonderful

Tuesday

10 May 2022

SUCCULENTS ARE ALWAYS EYE CATCHING

If you have no time to spare to water your plants, buy succulents. They can survive in extreme conditions without no water for weeks. In fact, the ideal amount of watering these plants should be getting is twice a month. They are tiny, so you can pot them in cute little planters and keep them in any corner of your house.

What are succulents?

Succulents are fleshy plants that can retain water in their leaves, stems or roots.

Why are succulents the best plants?

These low maintenance plants are almost indestructible and are available in varied shapes, sizes and colours, leaving plenty of options to choose from.

Are succulent good luck plants?

Succulents are considered good luck plants. because it is believed that the succulents have the ability to retain water and that is equal to retaining wealth and abundance and are capable of thriving in adverse conditions that equal absorbing all the negativity that goes around.

According to Feng Shui, if you grow some succulents at your home, they will bring wealth, good fortune, and prosperity to you. Feng Shui believers say that succulents attract positive elements that will bring a lot of happiness to your life. This is the reason succulents are so popular in China and now worldwide.

While there is little scientific backing of this association, one thing is for sure: succulents do give you good vibes and planting them can make you happy.

They are easy to multiply

One cost effective way to multiply your succulent collection is by propagating. Propagation is a way to grow your plant collection by taking a part of an existing plant to form a new plant. There are different propagation techniques. Propagation is commonly done from cuttings, stem cuttings, leaf cuttings, offsets, or seeds from a mature plant. Some succulent plants are easier to propagate than others. It takes a little bit of practice, some research, a bit of trial and error to begin propagating successfully but the reward is worth your time and effort.

What do succulent plants symbolize?

Overall, succulent is widely known as a symbol of tenacity, strength, and selflessness love. So, gifting succulents would be a great idea to show your unconditional love to the person you love the most.

Tips to keep them healthy

While they are low maintenance, over watering or under-watering succulents can kill them. However, here are some quick tips to keep your plump succulents happy!

Water them instead of spraying.

When you water the soil, don’t stop until it is completely soaked.

Don’t water your succulents again until the soil runs dry.

PLANTS MAKE YOU HAPPIER

Well, you probably heard that plants make you less stressed and happier. Well, that’s absolutely true! Especially succulents add positive vibes along with purifying your environment. So, gifting succulents would be a great idea to show your unconditional love to the person you love the most.

Mother's Day 2022 in India

Mother's love is the purest and most selfless form of love. It is a day to celebrate motherhood and honor mothers.

The word "Mother" resonates with blissful unconditional love and care that is the basic need of every child.

"Mother" Being the source or origin, the reasons for her existence in a child's life is endless and it applies to the entire living world of humans and animals. The connection of children with mothers seems to be eternal as this bond starts way before birth. If we go to jot down the list of reasons that make moms so important, then it might seem endless.

Mother's Day is celebrated annually in many countries around the world. While the dates vary every year, it is largely celebrated on the second Sunday of the month of May every year. This year, it will be celebrated on May 8.

From the day a child is born, she works hard to make sure that her child is equipped with knowledge, skills, and abilities. She gives her best to make you a competent human being. Being a mother is perhaps the hardest, most rewarding job.

*Thank you for every hug, word of encouragement, an act of love you’ve given me. Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing the Happy Mother’s Day is not enough to express your love and respect towards your mother, you have to be practical for every single need of your mother. Your mother should be the first to get the love, care and respect from.

A mother endures the good, the bad and the ugly from their children and always hands out hugs and kisses. They are the rock and the support throughout the good and bad times in your life.

A mother possesses incredible wisdom
And wonderful insight and skill-

In each human heart is that one special corner
Which only a mother can fill!
