What are the Five #Pranas?

Prana enables the body to move and the mind to think. It is the intelligence that coordinates our senses, and the perceptible manifestation of our higher selves.

Generally, Prana is understood as energy. Right and wrong! Not all energies are the same. Like there is energy in food, there is energy in the battery but these are different types of energy. You cannot replace food with batteries as a means of a human energy source.

Prana means life force or vital energy. These are the forces or energies which we need to carry out life activities. What can we term as life activities? How do you know if someone is alive or not? You know because they breathe, move, speak, and think. Right? So, these activities are called life activities. The energy or the force we need to do these activities is called prana. There are five major pranas that provide energy for five different kinds of life activities.

1.    Apana the force required for excretion, like sweating, urinating, etc.

2.    Samana the force required for digestion and metabolism.

3.    Prana – the force required for the heart to pump.

4.    Vyana – the force required circulation and movement.

5.    Udana – the force required for upper body actions like talking, thinking, eye movement, etc.

Bandhas, Asanas and Pranayama

By applying bandhas, we improve the functioning of these pranas in the body. When prana flows properly it optimizes the function, regeneration, and healing of the bodily systems which means optimizing physical and mental health.

Bandhas, when applied with specific yoga asanas, strengthen the muscles and promote the benefits of that specific asana. Stability, balance and control improves greatly. With Pranayama, when Bandhas are applied with practices like UjjayiAlternate Nostril BreathingBhastrika, etc. the benefits of these breathing exercises are strengthened. By applying retention and the locks, lung capacity and the functioning of the respiratory system improves.

Travel memories: CREATE YOUR SCRAPBOOK

How to Make a Travel Scrapbook?

It's easy to forget all the little details when on the road. And when you return home, it can be even harder to remember all the good times you had while traveling. That's why keeping a travel scrapbook is a great idea. Preserve memories from all your adventures so you can relive them whenever you want. Scrap booking is the perfect way to bring your travel memories to life, and an excellent way to embrace traveling from home!

I'm a firm believer that travel doesn't end when you come home. In fact, it's only the beginning. And by scrapbooking your travel memories, you can continue to bring the lessons and experiences you had in your vacations and exploring into your daily life.

Scrapbooking is such a fun way to bring your travels to life, and there's no right or wrong way to do it! You are free to customize and create whatever floats your boat. I tend to go a little overboard on the stickers, myself, but to each their own.

Lots of ways to keep your holiday memories

Now you can start writing. When writing a travel scrapbook, the most important thing to focus on is the story of your trip. If your trip was longer, try dividing the story into several chapters like a book. You can write about what you did at each place you went, where you went, what you ate, who you met, and any fun experiences along the way. Take notes as you go to make keeping a journal as easy as possible. 📝 Fill the pages with matching photos, 📸 souvenirs, and embellish with stickers or drawings. 🎨

Super simple scrapbooking

Don’t complicate things! Grab yourself a ring binder with plastic pockets and make like World of Wanderlust and create your scrapbook layouts on separate pieces of card or paper and slide into the protective pockets. Keep all your ticket stubs, photographs and postcards safe with this scrapbook design.

Decide what you want to include

Travel scrapbook can be a great tool to help plan your next trip or simply reminisce. You can create a travel journal scrapbook for a trip you've already taken, or a trip you're planning to take in the future. You can also use it to brainstorm and gather inspiration for your dream vacation. 🛩

What you add to your scrapbook is entirely up to you. You can get creative and create a separate journal for each holiday or just pick a few photos and record all your adventures in one journal.

Embellishments

Part of the fun of creating a scrapbook is finding fun nick-nacks to jazz up your pages with. For a personal touch, I like to include tickets, tags and receipts from a trip to add another dimension that just photos. However if you’re creating a travel scrapbook from a past trip that you don’t have any keepsakes from, there are so many stickers, gems and page inserts that you can buy online. Postcards are great for filling out a scrapbook, they often have incredible photos of famous landmarks and can be found so cheaply in most locations.

Quotes and Captions Elevate Your Scrapbook

Adding quotes to your travel scrapbook can help you capture the essence of the moment, as well as add meaning and depth to the pages of your photo book. Express feelings with relatable travel quotes and travel captions for your scrapbook with these quotes we’ve put together for you to be inspired by.

Gather your materials

Photo album - a good quality photo album is the basis for any good travel scrapbook. Don't use anything fragile that could get damaged if you decide to take the journal with you on your travels. We recommend using our album with thick pages that won't bleed through and sturdy cardboard covers that will keep your memories safe even when on the road. 📒

Pens and pencils - Recount your favorite experiences, funny stories, and anything else you want to remember 10 years from now. 📝

Photos - A picture is worth a thousand words. Complete your travel adventures with photos from each place you've visited. Print your photos in classic formats or if you use a smaller scrapbook, try our mini photos that will fit on each page. 📸

Photo mounting corners for attaching photos.

Any travel scrapbook stickers, printable, mementos, or tickets to complete the story.

Go extra!

Probably the most fun part of making a scrapbook, and the part where you can really show your artistic license and personality, is adding the extras. You can add labels to your photos, photo corners, stamps and extra pictures.

Design Bundles is a great place to find crafting materials. There are thousands of options here, perfect for any scrapbooking or craft project.

Additional Tip

Always make it a habit to take something from each place you visit. By doing so, you’ll have a collection from all over the globe. You can collect magnets, postcards, ticket stubs, and so on. This might be boring for some, but it’s something you can put in your scrapbook to help tell your story.

Scrapbooking is a brilliant way to preserve your stories and memories from your trip. It is also a very beneficial activity if you find that post travel depression sets in when you get back home.

Mahashivratri "Great Night of Lord Shiva"

Mahashivratri is the celebration of Lord Shiva, Rudra, Damru Wala, Neelkanth, Bholenath, Shambhu, Somnath, Bhootnath, Vishweshwara, Nageshwar, Mahakaleshwar, Bhole Baba, Jatadhari, Gangadhar, Shankara, Nataraja, Mahadeva, Adi Yogi, or the Omkar himself.

Mahashivratri 2024: Why is the festival celebrated?

According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati on this night. It is in celebration of their divine union that the day is celebrated as 'The Night of Lord Shiva'. While Lord Shiva signifies Purusha, which is mindfulness, Maa Parvati signifies Prakriti, which is nature. The union of this consciousness and energy promotes creation.

The festival falls on the fourteenth day of the dark (waning) half of the lunar month of Phalguna or Magha, a day before the new moon.

The devotees of the Sanatan Dharma celebrate Mahashivratri every year with full devotion and worship Lord Shiva with proper rituals.

Mahashivratri is of great spiritual significance as it is equivalent to worshiping Shiva the entire year and can also help one attain salvation and absolution of all sins. No wonder the festival finds mention in several Puranas including Skanda Purana, Linga Purana, and Padma Purana.

Significance of Maha Shivratri

Mahashivratri holds great spiritual significance as it marks the convergence of Shiva and Shakti, the masculine and feminine energies of the universe.

It is believed to be the day when Lord Shiva performed the divine dance known as Tandava, symbolizing creation, preservation, and destruction.
Devotees observe Mahashivratri to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for spiritual growth, enlightenment, and liberation from worldly desires.
It is also believed to be the day when Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati, signifying the union of divine masculine and feminine energies.

Best Indian Places to Visit during the Maha Shivaratri

Maha Shivaratri is celebrated throughout India, and as such, the festival is not confined to any specific location or region. However, there are several renowned Shiva temples and exceptional places known for their vibrant and devout observance of this auspicious festival in India, where devotees can worship Lord Shiva in a highly energetic and devotional atmosphere. Below, we have listed a few such places in India where you can partake in the Maha Shivaratri celebrations and experience the divine presence.

While these 11 places offer unique Maha Shivaratri experiences, Nashik (Maharashtra), Srikalahasti (Andhra Pradesh), and the Kashmir Valley also celebrate the festival with fasting, prayers, and fairs, showcasing the devotion and excitement of Lord Shiva's disciples.

Letter to the Universe Manifest by Writing Letters

Manifestation Letters for Attraction

Writing letters to the universe may sound a little crazy...heck, I felt a little weird doing it! But as you 'Using the Law of Attraction to Rock Your Life' post, asking the universe for exactly what it is that you want is super powerful.

It’s not a one-sided conversation! Ok, perhaps the universe isn’t writing back, at least not on pen and paper. But it’s definitely responding.

“When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.”

Write a letter to the universe to manifest? It’s not as difficult as it seems.

The universe hears feelings. We ask for the feeling we think we will get if we have that house, car, money, girlfriend, title, stature, and award, whatever it is.

Once you begin thinking and feeling in terms of energy and vibration, then you have a clearer understanding of what you are saying to, and asking of, the Universe.

The universe is awaiting your heartfelt words and desires, ready to fulfill them for you! Writing a letter to the universe is an incredibly powerful and effective manifestation practice.

Normally with the Law of Attraction we don't mentions what we are fearing, instead we focus on the positive, but when you're in an emergency situation, like the one above, it's important to rid ourselves of the fears we have.

I wish you all the luck, love and hope in the world. You’re a lovely vessel of pulsating life and love that needs to be experienced by the world. Let’s step off the ledge together.

How to Use the Law of Attraction

1. Relax your mind and meditate for 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Know exactly what you want. Have a clear and detailed image.
3. Send the Universe a mental picture of what you want.
4. Write your wish down and feel it happening to you.
5. Show gratitude by recording all the things the Universe has given you.
6. Be patient and trust the Universe.

The Logic behind the law of attraction work in my favour?

The answer lies in the very term used. 'Law of Attraction'.
If you want to attract a bird, you lay seeds or water for it.
If you want to attract a good spouse, you try to inculcate good mannerisms.
In short, it means being on the same page/frequency of the thing you want to attract.

LOA works on how you feel. Your feelings and the subsequent thoughts arising from them, make you attract things in life.
Feel good, feel positive, feel inspired and you will see it happening.

How to write a letter to the universe?

Always write in the present tense as though it is happening right now. Be as detailed as you possibly can down to the tiniest level. At the end write “this or better”. And write thank you.

You want to thank the universe as though it has already provided your request! Your letter is simply a thank you letter understanding that your request is already on its way to you!

Example statements:

·         Thank you for providing me a wonderfully fulfilling career as a video game designer!

·         Thank you for your blessings! Our performance at the Big Stage was flawless! We received a standing ovation and I was approached by multiple agents!

·         Thank you for the kind, loving, and gentle boyfriend you have brought into my life!

·         Thank you for the beautiful home! I love the character and history! It’s perfect for hosting family and friends!

There are components of Law of Attraction that you can master simply through practice. Here’s how:

Deep Breathing - 2 or 3 slow, deep breaths, hold a few seconds, exhale slowly 3 times a day. Helpful to take up self-hypnosis, meditation, prayer and yoga is excellent.

Imagine what you want - See yourself enjoying, feel your emotions, believe it. Let yourself feel the energy (vibration) within.

Think - About what you will do to achieve what you want - Learn what you need to learn. This can include skills, self-esteem, confidence, attitude, etc.

Intend - You must have a big intension to manifest your desire because wanting and intending both are different. Clear your intension and work for it definitely you will manifest it someday.

"The universe doesn’t give you what you ask for with your thoughts - it gives you what you demand with your actions".

Take Action - Practice and get good at what you must do, to have what you want. If you want to draw, draw, Want to be an actor take lessons and get into plays, commercial, movies, voice overs. Singers must sing. It all takes practice, and doing, so do it. Over and over.

"Dreams don't work unless you take action. The surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them".

Let It Go - Don’t obsess, simply know what you want and continue going for it.

Allowance - Detach from the outcome. You have to be intense in your desire without any expectation than it will manifest soon. You have to completely let it go (God).

Surrender yourself to the universe without expectations and you will get to know that needing nothing attracts everything.

"Stay positive. Sometimes you don't even realize you're blocking your own blessings by thinking negatively and holding on to the past. Learn to let go".

Receiving - Get ready, as things come to those who are ready and willing to receive.

Gratefulness - For what you have and will receive.

That will be you. It works!! It works absolutely!! It works completely!! It works always!!

"Everyone visualizes whether he knows it or not. Visualizing is the great secret of success".

No matter who you are, no matter where you are, no matter what your current circumstances, The LOA is going to change your entire life!
