International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21.
It is said that the word ‘yoga’ was first mentioned in the sacred text of the Rig Veda.
"Yoga" literally translates to the word "union" (of the mind, body, and soul, specifically).
Yoga is an ancient meditative technique that cleanses, heals and harmonizes the body from the core.
Yoga brings body balance, wellness of the mind, and an overall
sense of calmness.
"Yoga shows us the road from stress to
strength and from negativity to creativity.
Yoga tells us that so many problems might be
out there, but we have infinite solutions within ourselves.
Yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual.
The practice of yoga is an excellent survival tool.
“Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in
day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.”
During Yoga practice, you learn the important art of
“listening to the body.”
Yoga helps to expand the body and
mind, which in turn expands our self-awareness.
Yoga has a way of making seemingly
imperfect pieces beautiful.
