International Yoga Day 2021 'Yoga for wellness'

International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21.

It is said that the word ‘yoga’ was first mentioned in the sacred text of the Rig Veda.

"Yoga" literally translates to the word "union" (of the mind, body, and soul, specifically).

Yoga is an ancient meditative technique that cleanses, heals and harmonizes the body from the core.

Yoga brings body balance, wellness of the mind, and an overall sense of calmness.

"Yoga shows us the road from stress to strength and from negativity to creativity.

Yoga tells us that so many problems might be out there, but we have infinite solutions within ourselves.

Yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual.

The practice of yoga is an excellent survival tool.

“Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.”

During Yoga practice, you learn the important art of “listening to the body.”

Yoga helps to expand the body and mind, which in turn expands our self-awareness.

Yoga has a way of making seemingly imperfect pieces beautiful.

THE MOST ESSENTIAL PRESSURE POINTS ON HANDS

Pressure Points to Relieve All Sorts of Symptoms

Pressure point on the hands can be the gateway to feeling betterBy applying pressure to specific points on your fingers, hands, and wrists, you can alleviate a variety of symptoms, from headaches and back pain to nausea and anxiety.

Acupressure involves pressing on points that lie along the body's energy channels, or meridians, to relieve muscle tension and release energy. “The hands and feet are the beginnings and ends of most of the channels,”. “There are also extra points that aren’t on the meridians that have very specific functions. To get maximum relief, you need to a little more than just a gentle pat—the pressure should actually feel uncomfortable.

Practitioners of acupressure and reflexology use pressure points in their healing treatments.

Hand pressure points

Lung meridian Located towards the edge of the palm; the lung meridian runs from the tip of the thumb down to just past the crease in the wrist.

According to reflexologists, rubbing any sore spot along this line can help relieve symptoms associated with a cold, including sneezing, chills, and a sore throat.

Heart 7

A person can find the heart 7 point on the wrist, just on the outside of a small bone that is in line with the little finger. The traditional name for this point translates to Spirit Gate”.

People who support the use of pressure points believe that applying pressure to heart 7 will prevent:

Inner gate point

The inner gate point is not directly on the hand. To find it, place the hand palm up and use three fingers to measure roughly an inch down the wrist.

The inner gate point is here, approximately in the Centre of the wrist.

Practitioners recommend using the thumb of the other hand to firmly massage this pressure point to relieve nausea and stomach pain. It may also help other digestive problems.

Hand valley point

A person can find the hand valley point between the first finger and the thumb.

Practitioners claim that applying firm pressure to the hand valley point can reduce stress, stop migraines, and stop pain in the:

Outer gate point

The outer gate point is almost parallel to the inner gate point on the top side of the hand and arm, between two tendons.

Proponents say that applying pressure here boosts a person’s energy and bolsters the immune system.

Base of thumb point

A person can locate the base of thumb point by tracing a finger down the palm side of the thumb until they reach the wrist crease.

Reflexologists believe that applying gentle pressure to this point may help alleviate breathing issues and respiratory problems.

Small intestine 3

The small intestine 3 point is on the side of the hand just below the little finger and above one of the hand’s large creases.

Some people claim that applying firm pressure to this point can help relieve earaches, headaches in the back of the head, and neck pain.

Ten dispersions

The tips of each finger are home to these ten pressure points.

Applying pressure or using acupuncture on these points could help relieve some common flu symptoms, such as a high fever or a sore throat.

Some practitioners also believe that applying pressure can help treat a coma or epilepsy.

Four seams

A person can find the four seams on the inside of each of the large joints in the index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger.

Proponents of acupressure believe that these points can help treat digestive problems, especially in children.

Do pressure points work?

There are not enough peer-reviewed studies on pressure points and their healing effects to establish whether they are useful. Most evidence comes from research on traditional medicine and anecdotal results.

A person curious to try acupressure or reflexology can do so safely. There are virtually no side effects from applying pressure to these areas except for localized temporary pain.

Also, a person should continue using any doctor-recommended medical treatments when trying pressure point therapy.

People who have previously had blood clots or have risk factors for blood clots should speak to their doctor before receiving acupressure or massage.

Summary

There are many pressure points in the hands, many of which are a part of a much larger chain of points that run up the arms. Proponents of acupressure and reflexology believe these points can help heal other parts of the body.

People can try doing acupressure on themselves or use the services of a licensed practitioner who has studied pressure points and understands how they work.

It is important to note that there are very few studies that support the use of pressure points to treat illnesses. However, people can safely use hand pressure points in addition to regular medical treatments.

THE POWER OF WILLPOWER

Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. ...

Willpower is the ability to resist short-term gratification in pursuit of long-term goals or objectives. And the energy that stimulates this is really the motivational force called willpower.

Willpower has been termed ‘the greatest human strength’, and rightly so…as it is the factor behind even single noteworthy human achievement down the centuries! With willpower, the impossible can be made possible…without this all-important quality, everything you have worked for can be lost in an instant. By harnessing your willpower, and exercising self-control and practical wisdom, you can work toward your personal and professional goals and truly enjoy the quality of life that you deserve.

The willpower response is a reaction to an internal conflict.

The prefrontal cortex (that section of the brain right behind your forehead) is the part that helps us with things like decision-making and regulating our behavior. Self-control, or willpower, falls under this heading, and thus is taken care of in this part of the brain.

Sleep deprivation (even just getting less than six hours a night) is a kind of chronic stress that impairs how the body and brain use energy. The prefrontal cortex is especially hard hit and it loses control over the regions of the brain that create cravings and the stress response.

Will power be power pack kept for backup in emergency need.

Why WILL POWER be needed?

There are many things in life which we want to achieve?

Like Money, Fame, happiness etc. etc.

Everyone has different objectives/ambitions, however when someone decides to achieve anything in life.

Whatever we start in our life, whatever we need to achieve in our life, we need to understand nothing is FREE.

Keep this line in mind always.

“THERE ARE NO FREE LUNCHES”

Everything we get, needs hardwork, consistency, determination only ... and WILL POWER.

Three different aspects of willpower:

“I won’t” power the ability to resist temptations.

“I will” power the ability to do what needs to be done.

“I want” power the awareness of one’s long-term goals and desires.

Willpower is about harnessing these three powers of I will, I won’t, and I want in order to achieve your goals and stay out of trouble.

So, to grow our WILL POWER do following things:

1.                  Read positive thoughts everyday

2.                  Surround yourself with positive minded, growth minded people.

3.                  Avoid toxic peoples or the negative peoples.

4.                  say positive things for self, Self-Affirmations are very powerful.

5.                  Learn from mentors.

6.                  Use imagination to relax your mind.

7.                  Don't put yourself in temptation's way, or if you do, have a plan.

8.                  Keep finding a passion. Life keeps changing and so does your passion.

9.                  Give time to your hobbies.

10.             Find out your creativity and be creative.

11.             Play around and be happy.

12.             Spend time in nature.

13.             Plan your actions and also plan your priority.

14.             Live in present. Repeatlive in present.

15.             Be aware and beware.

16.             Don’t give up.

17.             Reboot Your Mind, Reboot your Life Project.

There is only one life to live and there is no way to wind back the clock to relive your life.

Shockingly, will-power is like a muscle.

Muscle gets stronger with exercise

Muscles can be overwhelmed, leaving them weak until they have the change to recover.

Will power be exactly similar to this. The more you use it the more it depletes.

I believe, the best investment you can make to improve your willpower.

We expect to be different/better us tomorrow with more willpower and more free time. The truth is if we don't want to do it now, we probably won't want to do it later.
